Woodberry, Hushpuppi’s Associate Forfeits $8m, Assets Pleads Guilty

 

Olalekan Jacob Ponle, the Nigerian man who's further populalry known as Mr Woodberry, has contended shamefaced to line fraud, The PUNCH reports.


He also agreed to lose$ 8 million in proceeds of line fraud as well as luxury buses and watches to the foreign government


Mr Woodberry, a known associate of the now- locked internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas, more known as Hushpuppi, lately in a plea protestation submitted at the United States District Court of the Northern District of Illinois Eastern Division on April 6, contended shamefaced to count one of the complaints, the Peoples review reports.

According to his plea agreement, he's needed to pay back the sum of$ 8 million he fraudulently entered from the seven companies that fell for his fiddle



“ Defendant understands that by contending shamefaced, he'll subdue to penalty to the United States each right, title, and interest that he has in any property constituting or deduced from proceeds attained, directly or laterally, as a result of the offence, ” stated the document containing Mr Ponle’s inked plea protestation



Mr Ponle was also asked to waive his rights to the luxury buses , and developer watches he'd stockpiled in Dubai. 



The high- end motorcars include Rolls Royce Cullinan with vehicle no J9153, Lamborghini Urus (N4973) and Mercedes- Benz G- class ( G68816). 



Other particulars seized are four Rolex watches, one Patek Philippe watch, three Audemars Piguet watches, three gold and diamond- speckled earrings, and six gold neck chains

Mr Ponle was arrested in Dubai on June 10, 2020, alongside Ramon Hushpuppi Abbas, presently serving an 11- time judgment for a analogous fraud charge
