The PUNCH reports that a structure which is located within the demesne of Ile Oodua Palace of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has been burnt.
The structure was razed down by fire, destroying valuables.
According to a source at Enuwa, Ile- Ife, where the palace is located, the incident happed around 11:30 pm on Friday.
It was also learnt that when the bank was noticed, the entire demesne was thrown into fear, as those within the vicinity rallied sweats to help the fire from spreading to other corridor of the palace.
A statement by the monarch’s prophet, Moses Olafare, attained in Osogbo on Saturday, said no casualty, no loss of any artistic item or injury was recorded in the conflagration and criticized the incident on a power swell.
It further read in corridor, “ A structure apartment within the yard of the Palace Of The Ooni Of Ife was at about 1130 pm history gulfed in dears of fire incident touched off by a power swell which exploded through electrical appliances in the affected apartment.
“ The conflagration didn't spread beyond the affected structure located at a section of the palace demesne, as it was fleetly put off through the combined sweats of the Government Fire Service, OAU Fire Service & Palace Emergency Control Unit.
“ No casualties, no injuries recorded, no artistic particulars lost, ” Olafare said.
