The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has made a new advertisement.
JAMB, on Monday blazoned that it had proceeded the 2023 Direct Entry enrollment nationwide.
The Registrar of JAMB, Professor Is- haq Oloyede, who made this known at a press briefing on Monday in Abuja, said that the DE enrollment would come to a close on April 28, 2023.
While lamenting the high position of phony of A position instruments used for the enrollment , Oloyede said the board had introduced new guidelines to check similar acts.
He said, “ You'll recall that the board commenced the 2023 Direct Entry enrollment on Monday, 20th February, 2023, but had to incontinently suspend it following the discovery of the plethora of bias and plots to circumvent and compromise the standard of A ’ position qualifications needed from DE campaigners.
“ Recall that recent common operations of the Federal Ministry of Education and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Affiliated Offences Commission on DE qualifications brought to light some of these unsavoury and unrighteous conditioning.
“ Bayero University, Kano has also constantly brought to the fore the high rate of phony of A ’ Level qualifications for DE.
For case, it was discovered that in former times, some campaigners used inferior and forged A ’ position instruments qualifications to register for Direct Entry and ultimately got admitted. For illustration, out of 148 campaigners vindicated by BUK, only six were set up to be genuine. By recrimination, 142 of the results were forged.
“ The Board, concerned stakeholders and institutions are working assiduously to descry similar and the bones
formerly set up are being dealt with according to the vittles of the law. ”
Speaking further, Oloyede said the Board would only accept 13 qualifications/ instruments for the 2023 Direct Entry enrollment , which include; first degree, university parchment, Advanced public Parchment, Ordinary National Diploma/ National Diploma and Nigeria Certificate in Education.
Others are Interim common Matriculation Board A ’ Level, Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board A ’ position,
NABTEB Advanced National Business Certificate, NABTEB Advanced National
Technical Certificate, NABTEB GCE- A ’ Level( 2015 – 2021), Advanced Islamic Studies Certificate by NBAIS, International Baccalaureate and the National Registered nanny/ public Registered Midwife.
He, still, said that the 127 campaigners who had before registered for the 2023 DE before the exercise was suspended would be requested to return to the enrollment centres and modernize their operation.
The JAMB master also revealed that the data bank put in place to address challenges associated with the A ’ Level qualifications had now been renamed as ‘ NigeriaPost-secondary Education Data System ’.
On the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, Oloyede said JAMB had introduced new measures in the conduct of the test and called for understanding.
“ The Board has introduced some measures which are to be stationed during the 2023 UTME exercise. Despite the fact that the inventions have been tested and certified, yet it isn't doubtful that some interruptions might spring up when the new technology is stationed live and civil. We thus solicit your support and understanding as we instantly address any unlooked-for circumstances.
“ One major point of the new division is that no examination would be allowed to take place after one hour of its slated launch time because the Board has discovered that some of the problems reported at the centres are simulated to delay the inception of a session in some centres with a view to securing overdue advantage for the delayed campaigners.
“ Accordingly, any session that, for whatever reason( s), couldn't take off within one hour of its schedule is automatically tallied. When similar occurs, affected campaigners are anticipated to file out of the examination hall into the staying hall and await the new listed time and place which most probably would be the same or ensuing day, ” he said.
