President Buhari has said that he ca n’t wait to go home after eight yeras of being President of Nigeria.
While speaking at his final Sallah homage held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Friday, April 21, the President described himself as being lucky to have led Nigeria in colorful capacity which is as governor, minister, head of state and President. He thanked the residers of Abuja for permitting him in the last seven and half years.
“ I ca n’t stay to go home I designedly arranged to be as far down as possible from you people. I've got what I've asked and will still retire to my home city in Daura, ” the President said
He said he considered the Sallah festivity as a good coexistence to say farewell and to “ thank you for permitting me for eight years. ”
“ I'm counting the days. Republic is a good thing else how can notoriety from the other side be a chairman for two terms? My home city to Niger Republic is 8 kilometers. I actually consider myself veritably lucky, I was made a governor, minister of petroleum, head of state in livery, also after three attempts, God through technology and PVC, I came chairman. I tried 2007, 2011 and 2015 and ended up at Supreme Court three times. ”
President Buhari also took a swipe at those who said they can not get justice at the court, recalling that all Supreme Court judges in all the election cases he took to court were each from the North and Muslims and yet he lost. He said thanks to technology and the endless choosers card( PVC), he was suitable to make it in 2015 to Aso Rock.
“ I suppose this is a veritably good coexistence for me to say farewell to you and to thank you for permitting me for further than seven and half times now. I assure you, I've designedly arranged to be as far down from you as possible not because I do n’t appreciate the love you ’ve shown to me, but because I suppose I ’ve gotten what I've asked and I would rather still retire to my birthplace. Having been a Governor, Minister and the President doubly, I suppose God has given me an inconceivable occasion to serve as your chairman. And I thank God for that. So, please whoever feels I've done wrong to, we're all humans. There's no mistrustfulness I hurt some people and I wish you'll pardon me. And those that suppose that I've hurt them so much, please pardon me, ” he said
